Thank you to yourself and your team, everyone was amazing and the venue was more than we expected. Dean, myself and our guests loved it all!

Thank you very much! Alice and I, as well as our guests, all had an amazing day! Everything went as we'd hoped and we had many comments on how fun and relaxed the day was, as well as lots of excitement about having the wedding in a zoo.

– Alice & Mathew - April 2017

The venue, the staff, the service, the food - it was all utter perfection. The staff made me feel so special and welcome, and nothing was too much trouble.

My husband and I had our wedding reception at Bristol Pavilion July this year. We absolutely loved the Zoo and we felt the venue was very personal to us.

We had a fantastic wedding reception at the Clifton Pavilion. The team did a great job making sure everything ran smoothly and exactly how we wanted it. Loads of our guests said how much they enjoyed the food and how they had a really good day.

I cannot fault the venue or most importantly service we received throughout the planning of our wedding and the day itself.

“We really did have the perfect day”

We had many suppliers who helped to make our day so special but none of this would have been possible without the help of the zoo to bring it all together for us.
Thank you to all the zoo events team for making our celebration such a memorable one!

Case Study

Polly and Dan’s Wedding at Bristol Zoo Gardens, 3rd February 2016

Polly and Dan Courtney met back in 2007. They finally tied the knot on 28th November 2015 at the beautiful Clifton Pavilion at Bristol Zoo Gardens. The rain poured, but no amount of rain could dampen their spirits during their very special day. We speak to the happy couple to find out more.

How did he (or she!) propose?
Dan proposed completely unexpectedly (a challenge after 8 years together!) on the riverside in Bath.
How many venues were you looking at and what made you choose the Clifton Pavilion Bristol Zoo Gardens for your wedding?
We live in London so spent an intense weekend viewing about 6 venues in the Bristol area. The Clifton Pavilion really stood out as it offered a unique setting, a beautiful venue and somewhere where we could have everything under one roof from the ceremony right through to the evening reception, without breaking the bank! It was quite important for us to have somewhere with lots of accommodation options nearby as we had guests travelling from all over the world so Clifton was the perfect option.
How did you find the organisational process with the team?
The team at Bristol Zoo Gardens were fantastic from start to finish. From showing us around (and letting us have a sneaky look around the zoo for free!), to helping with mapping out the smooth running of the day we couldn’t have asked for anything more. The support we received on the day from the on-site co-ordinator, Alice was absolutely priceless too, she really went above and beyond even going out into the pouring rain to escort our guests in under umbrellas.
How would you describe the food?
The food was delicious. It was really nice to be able to slightly tweak the menu offered by the team at the zoo to create some sharing platters and we had so many compliments on the day from family and friends.
What was the best part of your day?
So hard to choose as we absolutely loved every minute but the ceremony was very, very special.
Did the day live up to your expectations?
The day completely surpassed all our expectations. It is so special to have everyone you care most about in one room, having a great time and created some moments we will never forget.
Would you have done anything differently?
Honestly, no! Everything ran completely to plan and even the torrential rain outside couldn’t dampen our spirits.
What words of wisdom would you give to any future couples who are planning their big day?
Don’t lose sight of the fact that ultimately you’re marrying the love of your life, so don’t overly stress about the little details and do what feels right for you both. On the day itself, try and make some time for just the 2 of you and sit back and take it all in!
